It took me a couple of years to finish my general education just so i can apply to a two year program. I am now in the program and almost done with my first year. Total years of school: 4…. 2 years general ed, and pre requisites, then another 2 years in the actual program.
It is a good field, i am currently training at a Kaiser facility and i look forward to being hired there once i graduate.

haha i really don’t have that much advice because i don’t know much about this field at all. i would just say get as many years experience as possible because many employers will take that over a higher degree any day. they seek for the experience more than the degree you have. some treat it as being overeducated and would rather give an entry level position to someone else if that makes sense. this goes for any field. it is up to you in what you want. good luck!

hmm…well i guess some schools require bachelors as a minimum because yes it does help with a higher degree to make more money but i think it also depends on the region as well. some states probably get paid $70000 a year because of the cost of living as to where some only make 40-50 thousand. so better preparation and schooling should equal more money. thats good in ireland that you have to do a bachelors. higher standards equals better qualifications. do you plan to work there or somewer else

@lennoshane oh okay i see. well in depends here in the US. a 2 year degree is like the most basic to get into an entry level job here. a lot of people do this but many also just shoot for the bachelors in order to get a substantially higher pay. thats how it usually works. but then again some people have masters degrees in education but get paid lower than usual which sucks and is a problem.
